Pursuant to the Maryland Public Information Act, I hereby request the following records for every sworn officer and civilian member of the Ocean City Police Department for fiscal years 2020 and 2021:
1. First and last name;
2. Unique sequence number;
3. Current badge number
4. Any previously recorded badge number that was used before the current one;
5. Race;
6. Gender;
7. Hire date;
8. Current salary;
9. Overtime paid per fiscal year.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. Alternatively, please consider waiving any fees, pursuant to § 4-206(e)(2)(ii) of the General Provisions Article, as this request is on behalf of individuals served by the Maryland Office of the Public Defender, a state government agency, which solely serves indigent citizens of Maryland. As a result, my request for the above-listed public records is in the public interest. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.

You had previously indicated that it would be completed on Jan. 14, 2022. I wanted to check on the status of my request, and to see if there was a new estimated completion date.

Good Afternoon,
Attached are several files with information requested by your office on December 3, 2021. I apologize for the delayed response. Because of system limitations, some fields could not be included in the query. The information included is as follows:
1. First and last name- Included
2. Unique sequence number – Not Included
3. Current badge number- The Human Resource system does not have badge numbers or sworn status dates, thus those pieces of information are not in the enclosed report. The Police Department does have a record that lists the officer’s name with their associated identification number. Those records are attached.
4. Any previously recorded badge number that was used before the current one - Not in the system. See answer to #3.
5. Race - Included
6. Gender- Included
7. Hire date- Included
8. Current salary- Included for 2021
9. Overtime paid per fiscal year, includes administration, services, patrol and CID divisions:
- FY20 Police overtime, $1,155,871
- FY21 Police overtime, $1,588,044
