The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 3 business days, as the statute requires.

Good afternoon,
We have received your request. We are requesting that you provide more specific information as to what "surveillance technology" you are referring to.
When e-mail searches for FOIA's are conducted we utilize keywords for those searches. If you could specify the technologies you are referring to we will be able to search more effectively.

Respectfully,
Sgt. A. Cooper
NLRPD

From: Joseph Flaherty

Good afternoon,
Please revise the email search portion of my records request to constitute a search for the following keywords or keyword strings. However, the rest of my request asking for contracts, RFPs, et. cetera stands as written.

"stingray"
"phone tracking"
"IMSI-catcher"
"Rekognition"
"FaceFirst"
"Face++"
"facial recognition"

Thank you.

From: North Little Rock Police Department

Mr. Jayroe,
We have received your additional information for your request. I have forwarded your request to the appropriate department for processing. I will notify you with the results when processing is completed.

Good Afternoon,

I am still currently processing your FOIA Request. I am requesting additional time as the e-mail search with the keywords you provided has resulted in over 1300 pages. The vast majority are newsletters which reference the key words.

Would you like all 1300 + pages or would you like only the e-mails that specifically reflect department communication about the keywords you provided...if any?

Based on the keywords you have provided I can advise that the North Little Rock Police Department does not operate any programs involving Facial Recognition.

We do utilize drones, cameras, and License Plate Readers. I have been advised that these items are not under any sort of contract.

Respectfully,
Sgt. A. Cooper
NLRPD

Hello Sgt. Cooper,

Please provide the emails that reflect department communication about the keywords. You can feel free to omit the newsletters or other extraneous communications. Thank you.

From: North Little Rock Police Department

Mr. Jayroe,
I have attached the e-mails that reference to the key word search you provided. I did remove all newsletters and other extraneous communications that did not relate to the key word search.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me and I will assist you should you require further.

Thank you so much for your patience.

Respectfully,
Sgt. A. Cooper
NLRPD
