BOE informed by a BOE employee on Wednesday, 10/24 of a face book posting referencing an incident at the Steele Creek Early Voting Site where two white males were verbally assaulting a black male campaigner with racial slurs. The person being assaulted called CMPD, but the assaulters had left the premises prior to CMPD's arrival. Several witnesses where interviewed and were able to give a description of persons and vehicle. Per media reports , the alleged assaulters were arrested later that night. In checking with the Site Coordinator, no one inside the voting enclosure was aware of the commotions in the parking lot and voting proceeded as usual with no impacts.
