On October 22, 2022 at the Trunk Or Treat event, the Village of Niles Fire Department was giving away treats including stickers with the phrase "FIREFIGHTER LIVES MATTER" (see attached image). We would like to understand how and why these stickers were handed out to community children.

Pursuant to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act., we hereby request the following records: any and all written records (including but not limited to hard-copy documents, memos, emails, word processor documents, PDF documents, PowerPoint files, etc.) created or written by members of the fire department between January 1, 2022 and the date this request is processed (inclusive of those dates) which contain one or more of the following words, terms, or phrases (case-insensitive):

-"red lives matter"

-"red lives"

-"thin red line"

-"firefighters lives matter"

-"all lives matter"

-"black lives matter"

-"BLM"

-”trunk or treat”

-”stickers”

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
