On May 23rd 2023 a public comment* was made by representative of the Niles Fire Department regarding the administrative leave of Dan Reed. Please provide all letters, emails, communications & records pertaining to this issue.

Thank you for writing to Village of Niles with your request for information pursuant to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140/1 et seq.

 

On May 24, 2023, you requested the following records: all letters, emails, communications and records pertaining to this issue (Niles Fire Department administrative leave of Dan Reed).

 

Your request is being granted in part and denied in part. The denial is based on the following reasons:

Section 7(1)(f) – Preliminary drafts, notes, recommendations, memoranda and other records

Section 7(1)(m) – Communication between a public body and an attorney...

Section 7(1)(n) – Records relating to a public body's adjudication of employee grievances or disciplinary cases

You have a right to have the denial of your request reviewed by the Public Access Counselor (PAC) at the Office of the Illinois Attorney General. 5 ILCS 140/9.5(a). You can file your Request for Review with the PAC by writing to:
