To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the New York State Freedom of Information Law (1977 N.Y. Laws ch. 933), I hereby request the following records:
Copies of all rejection letters, dated between January 1 2010 and June 1 2015, that were sent to applicants seeking “artist certification” for joint living-working space in the M1-MA and M1-MB zoning districts (SoHo and NoHo). This process is described on the Department of Cultural Affairs website here:
Furthermore, some of the requested letters were described by The New York Times last year:
Please limit this request to copies of letters sent to individuals whose applications for artist certification were denied by the Department.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.
To Whom It May Concern:
I wanted to follow up on the following Freedom of Information request, copied below, and originally submitted on May 7, 2015. Please let me know when I can expect to receive a response, or if further clarification is needed.
