Pursuant to the New York State Freedom of Information Law (1977 N.Y. Laws ch. 933), I hereby request the following records:

Data on the number of times the NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission has permanently revoked the TLC license of a TLC-licensed driver for injuring or killing a pedestrian or cyclist pursuant to the 2014 adoption of Cooper's Law.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

The Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) hereby acknowledges receipt of your Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) request dated March 3, 2016. Specifically you requested:

“Data on the number of times the NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission has permanently revoked the TLC license of a TLC-licensed driver for injuring or killing a pedestrian or cyclist pursuant to the 2014 adoption of Cooper's Law."

Pursuant to section 87(2) of the New York State Public Officers Law, your request has been granted. There have been no TLC licensees that have had their license permanently revoked for injuring or killing a pedestrian or cyclist pursuant to Cooper's Law.

You may file an appeal concerning the information in your request which has been denied within thirty (30) days of the date of this letter in writing to Mr. Christopher Wilson, General Counsel at 33 Beaver Street, 22nd Floor, New York, NY 10004.
