Pursuant to the New York Freedom of Information Law, I hereby request the following records:

Any document produced by agents or staff of the Legal Affairs Bureau (specifically its Subunits the Legislative Affairs Unit and/or Criminal Section) which mentions any of the following keywords:

• MRTA
• Marihuana Regulation and Taxation Act
• S854A
• A1248
• Penal Law 222
• Liz Krueger
• Crystal Peoples-Stokes
• and finally, the terms "legalization" where it is reasonably in application to the terms "cannabis" "marijuana" "marihuana" "weed" or "pot."

Documents would date from January 7, 2021 until March 31, 2021; dates are approximate and inclusive, and represent the dates of introduction and passing of the Marihuana Regulation and Taxation Act (MRTA)

This request includes documents such as a legislative memorandum of support or opposition, or documents pertaining to implementation of MRTA and the New York City Police Department's stance toward the legal use and possession of cannabis (i.e., a Finest Message).

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
