Pursuant to the New York State Freedom of Information Law (1977 N.Y. Laws ch. 933), I hereby request the following records:

A log of all FOIL requests made in fiscal year 2013.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Dear Mr. Skelding,

I am writing in response to your request of January 30, 2014 under the Freedom of Information Law (Public Officers Law § 84 et. Seq. "FOIL") to the Manhattan Borough President's Office seeking a log of all FOIL requests made in fiscal year 2013. Due to the change in administration in the Office of the Manhattan Borough President we were compelled to retrieve back-up copies of these records. A copy of the retrieved log is attached. Certain information has been redacted pursuant to Public Officers Law Section 87 (2)(b) and 89 (2)(b) for privacy interests.

You may appeal denials of access in writing within 30 days to the Records Access Appeals Officer, Manhattan Borough President's Office, 1 Centre Street, 19th Floor, New York, NY 10007.
