First & Second Degree Murder Charging Data | New York County, NY

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the New York Freedom of Information Law, I hereby request the following records:

I’d like to request an export of all charging data for 2011-2021 for people charged with murder in the first degree (Ch. 40 Sec. 125.27) or second degree (Ch. 40 Sec 125.25) in your jurisdiction, including any attributes stored such as name, gender, age, race, ethnicity, case number, additional charges, date of disposition, case disposition, co-defendants, and sentence imposed.Additionally, if non-involuntary murder cases are flagged or identified in your relevant databases in another way, I would like that data included in your response as well. If it is not possible to provide a release of just those charges, please release all charging data that would include those charges.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
