Pursuant to the New York Freedom of Information Law, I hereby request the following records:

A copy of the FDNY fire marshals report for a fire that occurred at 700 Columbia Street in Brooklyn New York on December 13th, 2022.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

PLEASE BE ADVISED that additional time is needed to respond to your request. Factors and circumstances necessitating more time to respond may include, but are not limited to: (1) the number of requests received by the New York City Fire Department (FDNY), (2) the complexity of the request, (3) the ease or difficulty in locating and retrieving records, (4) the volume of records located in response to the request, and (5) the need to review records pursuant to Public Officers Law (POL) § 87(2) to determine the extent to which they must be disclosed. With respect to factor 1, at the time you made your request, numerous other FOIL requests were already pending, many of which involve multiple factors, or all of the factors cited above. With respect to factor 3, the Fire Marshal report is pending, as these investigations may take many months to complete. Thus, collection of records remains ongoing. With respect to factor 5, responsive records will be reviewed pursuant to Public Officers Law § 87(2) to determine if any record or portion of records are exempt from disclosure. We anticipate providing you with a response by the date above.
