Pursuant to the New York State Freedom of Information Law (1977 N.Y. Laws ch. 933), I hereby request the following records:
All correspondence with the phrase "Empire State Building" or Empire State Realty Trust.
I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

This is a rather absurd response. On January 7th I received an e-mail from Lisette Reisman saying the request was being processed. I then e-mailed back on the 7th, 13th and 23rd asking if there were any further updates or if there was any more information necessary. I heard nothing until this rejection notice.
The request is not overly broad. A simple search of e-mails from the Mayor's staff that contain the words "Empire State Building" or "ESB" should take all of a few minutes to process.
