Pursuant to the New York Freedom of Information Law, I hereby request the following records:
Details of the public hearing that took place on April 10, 2020, regarding the debt collection rule amendment for language access (sections 20193, 5-77, and 6-62 of title 6 of the Rules of the City of New York). Did the hearing take place? Was it live or virtual? Who received notice of the hearing and logistics for attending, and when? Who spoke at the hearing?
I also request a copy of the transcript of the hearing as well as any notes taken.
I am a member of the news media. My publication covers the professional debt collection industry. As my primary purpose is to inform about government activities by reporting on it and making the raw data available, I request that fees be waived.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.
