Pursuant to the New York State Freedom of Information Law (1977 N.Y. Laws ch. 933), I hereby request the following records:

-- the contract(s) for any and all vending machines in New York City Hall, as well as their locations in City Hall
-- any documents and/or correspondence with the vendor regarding which items are stocked and changes to which items are stocked

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Dear Mr. Skelding:

This letter serves as a response to your Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) request received in this office on the above date. You have requested the contracts for any and all vending machines in New York City Hall, as well as their locations in City Hall. Additionally, you have asked for any documents and/or correspondence with the vendor regarding which items are stocked and changes to which items are stocked.

Please be advised that the New York City Council does not have any responsive documents to your request. Under the Freedom of Information Law, this constitutes a denial of your request and you have an administrative right to appeal this decision. If you wish to appeal, you may do so in writing, within thirty days, to Jason Otano, FOIL Appeals Officer, 15th Floor, 250 Broadway, New York , New York 10007 or Jotano@council.nyc.gov.
