Pursuant to the New York State Freedom of Information Law (1977 N.Y. Laws ch. 933), I hereby request the following records:

Any and all correspondence, written or electronic, dated between July 6 2013 and November 4 2013, exchanged by CUNY employee Ann Kirschner and an individual named David Petraeus and/or his representative, Robert Barnett.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

I have received your email dated November 4, 2013 regarding documents you are seeking under the Freedom of Information Law (FOIL).

We will endeavor to locate the requested documents and review them for possible exemption from FOIL, by December 9th, 2013. I will get in touch with you on or before that date regarding your review of those requested documents that are not exempt from disclosure. Under FOIL you can review all covered documents free of charge and may have copies made for $0.25 per page. We are attaching documents related to your FOIL request of November 4, 2013 regarding any and all correspondence, written or electronic, dated between July 6 2013 and November 4 2013, exchanged by CUNY employee Ann Kirschner and an individual named David Petraeus and/or his representative, Robert Barnett.

Please note that we deleted names, personal email addresses and other information of persons not employed by CUNY on the grounds that the disclosure of such information would constitute an unnecessary invasion of personal privacy.

We also withheld documents between and among employees of CUNY on the grounds that they are intra-agency materials. If you disagree with any rulings you can appeal them to the General Counsel and Senior Vice Chancellor for Legal Affairs, Mr. Frederick P. Schaffer, at the Central Office.
