Pursuant to the New York State Freedom of Information Law (1977 N.Y. Laws ch. 933), I hereby request the following records:

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

1) The number of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) complaints that were made against NYC public accommodations/New York City local government to the U.S. Department of Justice in 2014

2) Of the number of ADA complaints in #1, how many were opened for investigation

3) Of the number of ADA complaints in #1, how many were referred for possible mediation

4) Of the number of ADA complaints in #1, how many were resolved

5) A list of exactly what ADA complaints were made against NYC public accommodations/New York City local government to the U.S. Department of Justice in 2014

6) When each ADA complaint was filed

7) When each ADA complaint was resolved (of those that were, in fact, resolved)

I also request that fees be waived, as I am a student reporter at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism and believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
