Dear Mr. Hines:

Under the provisions of the New York Freedom of Information Law, Article 6 of the Public Officers Law, I hereby request a copy, in Adobe Acrobat or other electronic form, of all records or portions thereof pertaining to, or containing the following:

A list of all securities currently held by the University at Buffalo's endowment (be it by the University itself, the University at Buffalo Foundation, or any UB Foundation affiliate), including all equities, debt, and derivatives.

I understand that there is a fee of $0.25 per page for duplication of the records requested; however, the requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, and is not being made for commercial usage. As such, and as releasing this information is in the public interest, I ask that you waive any duplication fees.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

As you know, the Freedom of Information Law requires that an agency respond to a request within five (5) business days of receipt of such request. Therefore, I would appreciate a response as soon as possible.
If for any reason any portion of my request is denied, please inform me of the reason or reasons for the denial in writing and provide the name and address of the person or body to whom an appeal should be directed.

This is in response to your Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) request #15-041, in which you request, "A list of all securities currently held by the University at Buffalo's endowment (be it by the University itself, the University at Buffalo Foundation, or any UB Foundation affiliate), including all equities, debt, and derivatives." The University at Buffalo has no documents responsive to your request.
All documents related to the endowment are held with the University at Buffalo Foundation which is a private, non-profit organization that is not mandated to comply with the New York Freedom of Information Law. The Foundation is completely independent of the State and of SUNY in the exercise of their fiduciary responsibilities. You may contact the foundation at:
