Pursuant to the New York Freedom of Information Law, I hereby request the following records:

All records releasable under FOIL that mention or pertain to the late Evgeny Freidman. An attached obituary shall serve as proof Freidman has passed away in 2021; as such, privacy interests are diminished.

The disclosure of records concerning Freidman serves a public purpose of understanding a well-known, influential and infamous public figure. Freidman was credited with inflating the value of New York City taxi medallions before the crash in value in the 2010's and at the time of his death, Freidman was also named as individual delinquent taxpayer who owed the most money to the State of New York ($18,703,439.72).

To assist in the identification of records, please note the following identifying information:

Date of Birth: Nov. 29, 1970
Date of death: Oct. 24, 2021

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
