To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the New York State Freedom of Information Law (1977 N.Y. Laws ch. 933), I hereby request the following records:

All FOIL appeal determination letters sent to the Committee o Open Government by the New York City Police Department Records Access Appeals Officer from January 1, 2010 through the date this request is processed. If a database of these letters is available, please send this as well.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Conor Skelding

Mr. Skelding - -

I have received your request, and I'm fairly sure that we sent the same materials a couple of months ago to Shawn Musgrave. We're in the process of checking, and I'll get back to you.

Mr. Freeman,

Right you are. Sorry. Could you send those since Mr. Musgrave's request, then? 2013-14?

Sincerely,
Conor Skelding

Would it be possible to let me know of the last month of appeals that were sent to Muckrock? If you can, I can have the appeals received then scanned and emailed to you.

We've got them through Jan. 9, 2014.

Could we do Jan. 10 through the date when this request is processed?

Thanks for being so helpful!

I am sorry but our records only go back as far as January 2011! I can give you January 10, 2014 to August 5th, 2014. You have appeal letters from January 20? To January 9, 2014

From: Conor Skelding

That works! January 10, 2014 to August 5th, 2014 is fine. We do have those earlier letters.

Thank you.

Conor Skelding.

Sure. It will take a while - - we have support staff on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so if it's ok with you, we'll be sending them on a piecemeal basis.

From: Farmer, Patricia (DOS)

Ok great . . . I'll get on them now!

From: Conor Skelding

No sweat. Thank you.
