Pursuant to the New York Freedom of Information Law, I hereby request the following records:
Releasable records from the Governor's Judicial Screening Committees from time period of April 2019 through March 2020, where the below criteria applies:
* Applications for either appointment or designation, where the applicant is seeking the seat of Supreme Court Justice in the Second Department (including Interim or Acting Supreme Court Justice);
* Applications for Judge of the Court of Claims where the applicant is seeking the seat in either New York City or Hauppauge or where the applicant states residency either in New York City or in the counties of Nassau or Suffolk (and seeking a seat in New York City or Hauppaugue may be inferred);
* Reports authored (or authorized by) the Second Department Committee Members of the Screening Committees, or by the State Judicial Screening Committee, regarding the aforementioned applicants.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.
