Records of reports, observations, or surveillance that occurred at or around any of the Hackers on Planet Earth (HOPE) conferences, as listed below. This would include field reports from your personnel, or investigations related to HOPE of HOPE speakers, attendees, sponsors, or other associated personnel that occurred during the two month period before or after the conference.

It was held at the Puck Building in Manhattan on August 8-10, 1997. It is scheduled for St. John's University in Queens on July 31-August 2 2020.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

July 21-23, 2006, any records relating to Steven Rambam
July 16-18, 2010, any records relating to Julian Assange, Jacob Appelbaum, Adrian Lamo, or Wikileaks
July 13-15, 2012, any records relating to William Binney or the National Security Agency (NSA)
July 18-20, 2014, any records relating to Edward Snowden, Daniel Ellsberg, or the National Security Agency (NSA)
July 20-22, 2018, any records relating to Chelsea Manning
These narrower search terms should be useful to you. Note especially that the FBI arrested Steve Rambam at the HOPE conference in 2006. This was widely covered in the mainstream media (for example: https://www.informationweek.com/online-investigator-nabbed-by-feds-at-hackers-convention/d/d-id/1045513).
The named persons above are all believed to have been under FBI surveillance, before and during the HOPE conference dates listed above.
