Pursuant to the New York Freedom of Information Law, I hereby request the following records:
A list of all the ethics complaints for 2019/2018/2017, the title, scope and the individual that filed them.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

This correspondence is in response to your request for a list of all ethics complaints for 2017 to 2019 and information within them.
The Commission is not subject to the Freedom of Information Law (FOIL). In accordance with Executive Law ยง94(19) and the Commission's regulations<https://jcope.ny.gov/sites/g/files/oee746/files/documents/2017/10/19-nycrr-part-937-reformatted.pdf> for accessing publicly-available records, there are no publicly-available records at this time conforming to your request. Therefore, your request for records is denied. This decision may be appealed pursuant to the Commission's records access regulations as referenced above.
However, information about the number of complaints to the Commission can be found in our annual reports from those years, at https://jcope.ny.gov/reports-and-publications. Also, information about enforcement actions as a result of complaints or other methods of beginning investigations can be found at https://jcope.ny.gov/enforcement-actions.
