Pursuant to the New York Freedom of Information Law, I hereby request the following records:

1. All documents containing current rules governing incarcerated individuals' use of libraries in prisons in New York.
2. All documents containing current lists of publications that are not permitted in prison libraries in New York.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Hello Nadine,

Thank you for sending along these documents. Rather than filing an appeal, would it be possible to modify the second part of my request in accordance with the COOG opinion that you included in your response letter?

Perhaps I could resubmit the request as: documents maintained by DOCCS containing lists of publications not permitted in New York State prisons statewide.
