Pursuant to the New Mexico Inspection of Public Records Act, I hereby request the following documents:
–Hospitals that have been found in violation of the law requiring sexual assault victims to receive emergency contraception upon request
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 15 business days, as the statute requires.

Dear Vanessa, The Department of Health takes seriously our role to protect the health and safety of all New Mexicans. If we were to receive a complaint that a hospital is not providing emergency care for sexual assault survivors, following federal guidelines and working closely with CMS, we would survey or inspect the hospital.
Complaint surveys are made public record at https://providersearch.health.state.nm.us/. However, our database is not tagged in a way to query specifically for complaints of this nature.
