To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the New Jersey Open Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
Any and all records, documents, inspections, interviews, telephone conversations, reports, etc. related to the cyclospora outbreak in Somerset County, New Jersey from June 1, 2019 to July 30, 2019, including inspections records of the restaurant, Seasons 52, in Bridgewater, New Jersey, including my personal health records and interviews.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 7 business days, as the statute requires.
Dear Ms Garrity:
This will respond to the referenced request for government records. The request is overbroad and fails to identify the specific record requested. Therefore, the government records law, N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq., obliges me to deny the request.
The Office of the Commissioner typically does not maintain government records relating to retail food establishments or disease outbreaks. Should you wish to submit a more specific request that identifies the records requested, you might want to submit it to the Division of Epidemiology, Environmental, and Occupational Health, through the website at https://www.nj.gov/health/opra/requests/.
