To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Connecticut Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

This is a public records survey of law enforcement agencies throughout Connecticut. You may have received an earlier version of this survey. If so, this request seeks records over a longer period of time.

Please provide a copy of any crime/incident report (or similar police reports) in which a person was investigated, stopped, cited, arrested, or charged with violating Connecticut General Statutes § 53-37 (or "ridicule"). This request is limited to reports generated on or after October 1, 2000, through the present date. If your database does not allow searches that far back, please let me know how far back you can search.

If I can be of any assistance in interpreting or narrowing this request, please don't hesitate to contact me.

I also request that, if possible and pursuant to Conn. Gen. Stat. § 1-212(d), fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest and not made for commercial gain. The requested documents will be processed by a representative of the news media/press and made available to the public at MuckRock.com.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 4 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Adam Steinbaugh

Good Afternoon:

MuckRock News sent a similar request in May of this year with a beginning search date of October 1, 2020. Our Records Clerk e-mailed you a response stating there were no records found.

We will be treating the below e-mail as a new FOIA request. Our Records Clerk will get back to you after she has searched our database for violations of Connecticut General Statutes § 53-37 (or "ridicule") with a beginning date of October 1, 2000 per your request below.

We ask for your patience as there are several FOIA requests ahead of yours.
