To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Nevada Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:

Police reports and records documenting individual incidents of bears entering residences and businesses within your respective jurisdiction in the Lake Tahoe basin, for each year from 2010 through 2021. This includes both soft entry (ie, the bear entering either through an unlocked door or window) and forced entry (ie, the bear breaks a locked door or window to enter the structure).

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Per NRS 501.344, Confidentiality of information obtained by Department.  Any information obtained by the Department or any agent of the Department concerning a person who has requested assistance from the Department or has reported any information to the Department concerning any wildlife causing a nuisance or any potentially dangerous wildlife is confidential, the Department will not be providing ANY information on incidents reported to the Nevada Department of Wildlife in respect to bears entering a premises.
