Hi Charlene,

The ADL has confirmed that the Nevada Department of Public Safety has made this trip in the past. To find e-mails or documents pertaining to this request, it may be necessary to search for corresponence of e-mails between the department and addresses that end in @adl.org. A common one we have found corresponding with departments is ejarvis@adl.org. This correspondence would typically occur between the ADL and a high ranking officer. The documents for the Chicago Police department looked like this: https://cdn.muckrock.com/foia_files/2018/03/28/P434369__________REDACTED_FINAL_REPORTS.pdf

I hope this assists you in the search for the documents.

RE: PUBLIC RECORDS REQUEST of May 03, 2018., Reference # R001765-050318.
Dear Sanjin Ibrahimovic ,
The Department of Public Safety received your letter Dated May 12, 2018. I left you a phone message but have not received a reply. We did a search in our fiscal database for vendor payments and only one transaction came up in 2004 that was a purchase for the Department of Health and Human Services which is not our Department  (they may not have the documents anymore due to retention schedules though). We also sent emails to our Divisions to see if they have attended this event and received responses that they did not have any records. We have a 3 year retention schedule so we can look back to 2015 to current and it may be a possibility that we attended prior to 2015. Can you please clarify if you know what year that you believe we may have attended and what Division may have attended (Highway Patrol, Parole and Probation, Investigations, etc.)?
You can provide clarification by responding to this e-mail or:

Hi Melissa,

I'm sorry I missed your call. If you need an update from me in the future, e-mailing me at sanjin@lucyparsonslabs.com would be easiest- I can give you my private phone number by e-mail through there, as I am messaging you through a public e-mail address associated with Muckrock's services. It is probable that the individual attended before 2015. I am unable to provide a year, as it wasn't clear by the ADL e-mail. It is usually a high ranking officer, and some highway patrols have sent officers. I would look at the executive officers of each division, probably focusing on highway patrol to see if anyone may have attended in the past. Another event that many executive officers attend is the ADL's Advanced Training School, or the Western States Counter-Terrorism Seminar.

The easiest way to verify what year someone attended is by looking at metadata of e-mails. If your department has an IT professional, it would be easiest to identify the year by looking at the responsive metadata of e-mails. From & to, subject lines, and date & time of the messages to @adl.org domains from your department would indicate who has had correspondence and when the trip was likely made. I could provide correspondence with the IT person to assist in the search for e-mails corresponding to this request, if necessary.

I appreciate your correspondence and time.

Best Regards,

Sanjin Ibrahimovic
