Pursuant to the Nebraska Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:

Records that contain information on how many specialty "Choose Life" license plates were sold from 1997 onwards.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 4 business days, as the statute requires.

Good morning Mackenzie,

Thank you for your request regarding Nebraska's Choose Life specialty license plates.

Because 2018 was the first year the plates were available in Nebraska, the information you are seeking will be available on our upcoming annual report. The report has not yet been compiled, but following is a link to our historical annual reports on our website; we expect the publication of the 2018 annual report later this spring.

You will find the Choose Life plate information in our Driver and Vehicle Records Division of the report, which is the final section (located on page 33 of the 2017 report). The new annual report will follow the same format, but will include the new Choose Life plates.

Additionally, you can view an image of the design for plate, which was still upcoming in the 2017 report, on page 30.

After doing some research, I was actually able to obtain the figures which will appear in Nebraska's upcoming 2018 DMV Annual Report -

The total number of Choose Life plates processed for 2018 was 2,255.
