All communications , documents, papers and other public records regarding the Sheriff's participation in the EU VALCRI crime analysis system trial, from 1/1/2016 to the current date. To include any evaluation, feedback or pilot programs using the technology.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days.

Good morning Mark,
I am contacting you to provide you a good-faith estimate of costs associated with your public records request, and advise that we will require a deposit of 50% of the estimate in order for us to begin working on responding to your request. Based upon the nature of your request, there are a substantial number of potentially responsive records. Each document will need to be reviewed to determine if it is a public record, if it is responsive, and whether any statutory redactions are necessary. Our good-faith estimate of the labor costs associated with this request is $850. We will require a 50% deposit in the amount of $425.
Please provide a check or money order in the amount of $425 made payable to the Pasco Sheriff's Office as a deposit for your public records request. Upon receipt of the deposit, we will process your request and contact you upon its completion with a final invoice amount. If it is less than your deposit amount, you will be issued a refund for the difference. If it is more, you will be required to pay the outstanding balance difference before the records will be released to you. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Hi Caitlin,
Many thanks for your swift response. As I understand it, section 119.07(4)(a)1 of the Florida Statutes permits agencies to charge up to 15
cents per one-sided copy for paper copies that are 14 inches by 8 ½ inches or less and an additional 5 cents for two-sided copies, and also "a special service charge, which shall be reasonable and shall be based on the cost incurred for such extensive use of information technology resources or the labor cost of the personnel providing the service."
The estimate you quote does not seem to me to be reasonable, considering that there is likely little public information to redact from communication with European academic. Could you provide a breakdown and justification of that estimate?
