This email is in response to your public information request to the Office of the Governor (“OOG”), received by the OOG on February 16, 2016. A copy of your request follows this email.

The OOG has reviewed its files and has located the attached document that is responsive to your request. The OOG has redacted private email addresses from this document pursuant to section 552.137 of the Government Code and Tex. Att’y Gen. ORD-684 (2009).

Although the Public Information Act allows a governmental body to charge for copying documents, the attached document is being provided to you at no charge. If you have any questions, please contact me at (512) 463-8470 or publicrecords@gov.texas.gov.

From: Shawn Musgrave

Ms. Vu -

Please confirm that the OOG uncovered no emails to or from the Governor himself that contain the keyword "Scalia" — the released documents include solely constituent correspondence via a web portal, which I assume is but a small portion of all correspondence on this topic.

Furthermore, did the OOG intend to leave correspondents' name, IP address and address unredacted? We'd be happy to get another copy without this information, if it was a mistake to release the webmail correspondence with such information intact.

Best,
Shawn

From: Public Records

Mr. Musgrave,
That is correct. There were no emails from the Governor himself during the relevant time period that contained the word “Scalia.” The only emails sent to the Governor containing the word “Scalia” were the constituent communications we released to you.

As to your second concern, we have already redacted private email addresses from the released document. The Public Information Act does not require the redaction of the other information you mentioned.
Best,
Jessica
