Greetings FBI FOIA staff,
Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I request any FBI file and any other records pertaining to Theodore Brewster Taylor, AKA Ted Taylor, born July 11, 1925, in Mexico City, Mexico, died on October 28, 2004 in Silver Spring, MD.
Taylor was a physicist who worked in a number of positions in connection with the US nuclear weapons program in the 1940s and 1950s; as part of the "Project Orion" nuclear space propulsion program at General Atomic in La Jolla, CA; as Deputy Director of the Defense Atomic Support Agency (now DTRA) in the 1960s; and on the President's Commission on the Accident at Three Mile Island in 1979. Taylor was also the subject of the 1974 John McPhee book "The Curve of Binding Energy". I have attached a copy of a published obituary, which can be accessed here: https://www.nytimes.com/2004/11/05/us/theodore-taylor-a-designer-of-abombs-who-turned-against-them-dies-at-79.html
In addition to all other searches you would customarily conduct, please conduct cross-referenced, ELSUR, field office, and ARC (and any other such facility/system of old records as appropriate) searches using electronic and manual indices as appropriate.
This request is not being made for commercial purposes. The requested records will be immediately and freely available to the public on muckrock.com.
I would prefer the request be filled electronically, by portal upload or e-mail attachment if available, or CD-ROM if not.
Thanks for your help!
Cheers,
Joseph Durso
