This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:
Any photographs taken during the investigation of the New York prison escape of Richard Matt and David Sweat from the Clinton Correctional Facility, including those of the methods of escape.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

The United States Marshals Service does not maintain records such as those that you requested. It appears that the records you seek are likely to be maintained by state or local authorities. For your information, the federal Freedom of Information Act applies only to records maintained by federal agencies that are subject to the FOIA. Records that are maintained by state or local authorities are subject only to any records access laws that might be applicable to those states and localities. Accordingly, if you have not already done so, it is suggested that you make a request for such records to the proper state or local authority in accordance with the appropriate state or local records access law.
