Pursuant to the Nevada Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
This request should be directed to the Nye County Planning Department. I am seeking the following as they pertain to the above agency:
- A record of public records requests submitted to the above agency that lists the date of request, the requester's name, the requester's organizational affiliation, a description of the request and the county's response for the years 2016, 2017 and 2018.
- Records of policies/procedures related to processing and approval/denial processes for public records requests used in the years 2016, 2017 and 2018. We are interested in obtaining the policies for each agency, if they have their own policies, as well as the county’s policy.
- Records of total direct revenue and expenses (i.e., no including overhead) relating to the processing of public records requests in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

I am unable to obtain access to add documents. Please see attached record of records requests from 2016 – 2018 and fees. As far as - Records of policies/procedures related to processing and approval/denial processes for public records requests used in the years 2016, 2017 and 2018. We are interested in obtaining the policies for each agency, if they have their own policies, as well as the county’s policy. We follow Nevada Revised Statutes Chapter 239 and the Nevada Public Records Act manual established by the Nevada State Library, Archives and Public Records.

In regard to my request for records of policies/procedures related to processing and approval/denial processes for public record requests used in the years 2016, 2017 and 2018, I would like a clarification of your reply. You wrote that your department follows the Nevada Revised Statutes Chapter 239 and the Nevada Public Records Act manual established by the Nevada State Library, Archives and Public Records. Are you stating that your department or county does not have a written policy/procedure relating to processing and approval/denial for public record requests used in the years 2016, 2017 and 2018?
Also, if there are fees, I would appreciate if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request.

You are correct we don’t have our own written policy/procedures currently and have always followed the State Procedures. There is no fee for the document I provided you since it was sent electronically.
