Pursuant to the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, I hereby request the following records:
- All GIS data pertaining to mineral rights on land within the state of Minnesota, including but not limited to private mineral rights, state mineral rights, federal mineral rights, and tribal mineral rights.
- All guides/ reports related to this data produced in the past two years.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) received your below request. I am responding to you as the data request designee for the DNR Division of Lands and Minerals, as our Division will most likely be involved with this request.
The DNR is currently working on collecting data in response to another request submitted from your organization, request #75161-28137539 submitted June 12, 2019 ("Pending Request"). Based on the DNR's public data access policy, and as previously indicated to your organization, the DNR does not work on more than one request from the same organization at the same time.
The DNR generally proceeds with completing search and retrieval for requests from the same requester in the order received. With that said, according to our public data access policy, you have the option to set a priority for the order in which you would like the DNR to respond to your request. Please inform us in writing which of your requests you would like us to work on first: the Pending Request or this request #77846-58532328. If you want us to work on the requests in the order received, we will continue to do so after receiving confirmation from you in writing. If you want us to work on the requests in a different order, we will suspend work on the Pending Request and will begin search and retrieval on the request you identify as your priority request in a written response.
The DNR notes that this new request does not involve a request for data by a data subject, and thus is not subject to a 10-day response period.
The DNR will contact you again when we are working on this request and have additional information about when data has been gathered and to advise you of any related costs. Copy costs will likely apply. Please see the attached information sheet explaining copy costs that apply to data requests. It is difficult to anticipate the charges that will apply in advance of fulfilling a request. Please be aware that in the future you may be contacted for additional information or clarifications regarding your request.
