To Whom It May Concern:

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

### Background ###

In the first half of 2015, Russian cybersecurity company Kaspersky made a number of sales pitches to U.S. intelligence and law enforcement agencies, including the FBI and NSA, according to a well sourced media report: https://www.cyberscoop.com/kaspersky-fbi-cia-fsb-demarche-2015/

At least one of these pitches included the claim that Kaspersky could be used to catch targets tied to terrorism. My request concerns records related to these sales pitches.

### Request ###

- All materials provided by Kaspersky during sales pitches from 1st January 2015 to 31st December 2015.

In order to help to determine my status to assess fees, you should know that I am a journalist writing for The Daily Beast, and that this request is being made as part of news gathering.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Joseph Cox
