Good Morning,

I am suggesting that you log onto our website www.indy.gov<http://www.indy.gov> in the search box search Purchasing once you get on their page search for contracts or the Sheriffs office.

The Recorder's Office maintains many property records for Marion County including deeds, mortgages, liens and releases. Our office also maintains doing-business-as certificates, power of attorney documents and other instruments for public record.

Copies of records can be obtained in our office for $1.00/page. Copies can also be requested over the phone and sent by email if the document number is provided. The same fees apply for records sent electronically. Certified copies are only available in person or by mail.

You can locate the document number using our Free Search service through our website: https://www.indy.gov/activity/search-recorded-documents-and-request-copies.

This returns limited search results but does not provide an image of the recorded documents.

Additional security enhancements have been added to prevent data mining and ensure document integrity. Therefore, party name information must be searched exactly as the documents are indexed, the "wildcard" option is no longer available.

You may call our office with the document number to request a copy be emailed to you. Our staff will ask to verify certain information to ensure we are providing the correct document. Please note a credit card transaction fee will apply ($1.00 or 3.2% of transaction total).

Additional search services can be accessed through:

https://www.indy.gov/activity/search-real-estate-records-online

Covenant and Plats can be searched by subdivision and printed remotely at no cost.

Tapestry is a fee-based service that provides document images. Fee: $6.95/search plus $1.00/page for any copies.

Accessing information on the Property Report Card from the County Assessor, including names and legal description may be helpful in locating recorded documents. You can search that information here:
http://maps.indy.gov/AssessorPropertyCards/

Our office is neither licensed nor bonded to conduct searches. A professional title search company can provide a complete and exhaustive search of all records related to property.
