To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to Michigan's Freedom of Information Act ("FOIA"), I hereby request the following records:

A Shapefile or CSV containing at minimum the Address Points (house # and street name) and their corresponding Latitude/Longitude. If additional data such as the Unit Number, City, Zipcode, Parcel Id exists they should be included as well.

If this cannot be accessed, the parcel file including situs address would suffice.

Other names for this include: E911 Address Database, Civic Address File, Parcel Dataset, Land Ownership Dataset, Tax Parcels, Address Points.

I also intent to publish the data via the OpenAddresses Publication platform and would request a waiver of fees for the request.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Nick Ingalls

Hello Tracey

Sorry I seem to have sent you a duplicate email.

Thanks for sending along that link, Unfortunately there is no way to bulk download the raw data from the map, only browse individual parcels.

I'm looking to get a full copy of the data that powers it.

Cheers,
Nick

By making the information available and accessible to you in this way, we have met our requirements under FOIA.

From: Nick Ingalls

Hello Tracey,

Per my last email the web interface has no way to download the raw data in my requested format. Per MCL 15.231 Sec 4. (1)(c)
> For public records provided to the requestor on nonpaper physical media, the actual and most reasonably economical cost of the computer discs, computer tapes, or other digital or similar media. The requester may stipulate that the public records be provided on nonpaper physical media, electronically mailed, or otherwise electronically provided to him or her in lieu of paper copies.

Per my request
> A Shapefile or CSV containing.. etc.

I'm super flexible in terms of what format I can accept but the web interface does not allow me to copy the underlying records in any format - limiting me to inspecting the records only.

> This subdivision does not apply if a public body lacks the technological capability necessary to provide records on the particular nonpaper physical media stipulated in the particular instance.
Since the underlying resource is managed via the ESRI ArcGIS platform, furnishing me with a Shapefile copy would be a trivial transform, as provided for under the act.

Cheers,
Nick
