To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

All records mentioning or concerning EDGAR M. BRONFMAN, SR. For identification purposes, Bronfman was born 1929 in Canada, and died in 2013 in New York; the first 5 digits of his Social Security Number are 129-30. Bronfman's death was widely reported in 2013 (see attachment); records concerning Bronfman as a subject should thus be assumed free from the FOIA Exemption 6, 7(C) as well as the Privacy Act.

Please conduct a search of the Central Records System and FBI Data Warehouse System, including but not limited to the ELSUR Records System, the Microphone Surveillance (MISUR) Indices, the Physical Surveillance (FISUR) Indices, the Technical Surveillance (TESUR) Indices, Counterdrug Information Indices System (CIIS), for both main-file records and cross-reference records for all relevant names, individuals, agencies and companies.

If any potentially responsive records have been destroyed and/or transferred to NARA, then I request copies of the destruction or transfer slips as well as any other documentation relating to, mentioning or describing said transfer or destruction, to include but not be limited to confirmation that the Bureau has no other copies of said records.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

T. McElwee

FOIPA Request No.: 1447592-000

This is in response to notification that my request was fulfilled using responses to a prior (unrelated) request for records regarding Edgar M. Bronfman Sr.; it also states that some records were destroyed.

The pages and quick turnaround are appreciated. However, I wish to implore the Bureau to continue searching for records and respond accordingly. Please take note of the following circumstances:

1) My own request included an explicit request for "destruction or transfer slips" in the case records were destroyed or transferred to NARA; this was not fulfilled in the prior FOIPA response.

2) I am led to believe that the Bureau has records referencing or pertinent to Bronfman that are much more recent than the last records provided. Attached, please find reference to evidence and testimony from the trial of Keith Raniere in Eastern District of New York that there was an intrusion into Mr. Bronfman's electronic mail correspondence. By reasonable inference, the Bureau should possess records of the investigation into this intrusion.

Thank you,

T. McElwee
