Records relating to the Egyptian-American Transport and Services Corporation or EATSCO, which was connected to former CIA personnel Edwin Wilson and Thomas Clines and plead guilty in 1984 to overcharging the Pentagon by $8 million for delivering arms to Egypt.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

This is in reference to your Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request # 1343248-1-000 for FBI records concerning the Egyptian American Transport Services Corporation. We are reaching out to you to determine if you are still interested in these records, or, if at this time, you would consider reducing the size of your request from 6,858 pages to under 950 pages, which will move the request to the medium track. Reducing the size of your request may accelerate the processing and allow for a more timely receipt of the information you seek, as it could potentially place your request into a smaller, faster processing track. This may also reduce duplication costs, if applicable. Currently, there is a significant time involved in processing large track cases.
Requests are processed in the order in which they are received through our multi-track processing system, and the FBI receives a voluminous amount of requests on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis. Requests are divided into two primary tracks -simple (under 50 pages of potentially responsive documents) and complex (over 50 pages of potentially responsive documents). Complex requests are further divided into medium (51-949 pages), (large 950-8000 pages), and extra-large (over 8,000 pages) sub-tracks are based upon request size.
Please contact me with regards to this inquiry to let me know if you are still interested in receiving records for this request either in full (the remaining records), or reducing the request to the medium track (not to exceed 949 pages). If you reduce the size, you can request the additional records with a new FOIA request upon completion of this one.

There is no requirement in FOIA for "notarized letters" to prove the death of an individual, and your insistence upon it is improper to say the least. Further, you demand proof of death for an unnamed individual, making it impossible to comply. Finally, you've made no effort to segregate the information or refer to public records (as you are required to) or the agency referring the FOIA (as you are required to).
I ask that you kindly do each of these things and drop your extralegal demand for notarized letter and personal identification of the requestor and process the request as you are required to do.

If you didn't request passport documents in a certain person's name, the referred documents may have been sent to my office in error. I reviewed your request again and only saw that you are requesting documents pertaining to the Egyptian American Transport and Services. There is no particular name listed. As I previously explained on many FOIA requests, you are legally prohibited from charging me duplication for this request fees due to my news media status and your failure to respond within the time limit (you are several years past due).
