Demographics/Zone Assessment Unit reports

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the New York State Freedom of Information Law (1977 N.Y. Laws ch. 933), I hereby request the following records:

-All weekly field reports generated by the Zone Assessment Unit (previously the Demographics Unit) since its creation, or as far back as such records are maintained.
-All per-visit field reports generated by the Zone Assessment Unit (previously the Demographics Unit) since its creation, or as far back as such records are maintained.
-All reports generated from weekly field reports or per-visit field reports that were generated by the Zone Assessment Unit (previously the Demographics Unit) since its creation, or as far back as such records are maintained.
-Access logs for the database where the above field reports are maintained.

The system of field reports is described in detail in the May 16, 2013 deposition of Commanding Officer of the Intelligence Division for the New York City Police Department Thomas Galati. The June 2012 pre-trial examination of Mr. Galati also describes the Zone Assessment Unit's database and reporting procedures in detail. This testimony is available online: http://www.nyclu.org/files/releases/Galati_EBT_6.28.12.pdf

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
