Correctional Infraction Data (2019 - 2022)

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

Information on all disciplinary infractions given to incarcerated individuals from January 1, 2019 to July 31, 2022 at facilities operated by the Division of Correction. Specifically, I am seeking a spreadsheet, database, or delimited text file(s) — not paper records or a PDF created from data — with the following information for each individual disciplinary infraction:

• Inmate full legal name
• Inmate ID number assigned by the department
• Date
• Full legal name of the officer issuing the infraction
• Full legal name of supervising officer
• Full legal name of the disciplinary hearing officer (if applicable)
• The facility the incident occurred in
• Security level inmate is held in
• Time of the incident
• Place of the incident within the prison
• Officer’s written description of the incident
• Inmate’s response to the infraction
• Was force used and what type of force?
• Specific infractions accused of
• Severity level of the infraction
• Outcome of the infraction (guilty, not guilty, withdrawn, etc.)
• Penalty from the infraction (days of lost good time, days of solitary confinement, lost privileges, etc.)
• Was the penalty from the infraction changed or reduced at a later time?
• Was the infraction appealed?
• Names of witnesses involved

I recognize that each type of incident has different reporting requirements, so these are the general fields I need.

I also recognize that this is a large request. The request is intentionally broad because I do not know what data the department maintains or for what timeframe. If necessary, I can refine my request due to time or cost considerations.
