Pursuant to the New York State Freedom of Information Law (1977 N.Y. Laws ch. 933), I hereby request the following records:
The contract between Mayor de Blasio's office and the Patrolmen's Benevolent Association (PBA), announced by Mayor de Blasio on Twitter Tuesday, Jan 31, 2017, concerning a policy of all NYPD patrol officers wearing body-worn cameras. Mayor de Blasio's tweet announcing this is here: https://twitter.com/NYCMayor/status/826543006870360068.
I am a member of the news media, and this request is for newsgathering purposes. If possible, I would like this request to be expedited.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.
