To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Massachusetts Public Records Law, I hereby request the following records:

A copy of any documents or communications regarding the Bring Your Own Bag Ordinance of Cambridge, MA dated January 1, 2015 or any date thereafter.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as we believe this request is in the public interest, as suggested but not stipulated by the recommendations of the Massachusetts Supervisor of Public Records. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

I expect the request to be filled in an accessible format, including for screen readers, which provide text-to-speech for persons unable to read print. Files that are not accessible to screen readers include, for example, .pdf image files as well as physical documents.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Could you please help clarify your request for documents and communications? Are you looking for the official ordinance? Communications from the public, or internally? If you are looking for emails, could you please specify search terms, a date range, and mailboxes to be searched? Are you looking for Council Minutes, Agenda, etc?

As phrased this request is very broad, and may result in a cost estimate if the time to search and segregate files goes over 2 hours.

Thank you for your reply. I am happy to specify further. I am requesting the official ordinance itself, in addition to emails and communications to and from the Cambridge City Council mailbox from January 1, 2015 to February 1, 2019 with the search term "Plastic Bag Ordinance," both from the public and internally. I also request, if possible, Council Minutes from January 1, 2014 through April 1, 2016 that include the term "Plastic Bag Ordinance."
