Pursuant to the Texas Public Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
I am writing to request all publicly available documents, coroner's reports, incident reports, and the like relating to an unidentified homicide victim sometimes known as the Alvarado John Doe, case numbers 8903717/ U8907001. This homicide victim found shot to death along Interstate 35 in Texas during April 1989. Per the Doe Network, "The victim was found by a passing motorist on Interstate 35W at the Greenfield-Barnsville Road intersection. It appeared that the man had been forced to walk to the location, which was obscured by mounds of dirt, previously unsettled by utility workers. He had been shot six times in the chest with a .38 caliber pistol."
I am a researcher and writer who covers John and Jane Doe cases, and I have a strong track record of working with law enforcement in the Southeast to highlight unidentified persons' cases--I can provide references upon request.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
