Pursuant to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140/1 to 11), I hereby request the following records:

All video footage/files in the possession of Village (or its officers) obtained in the course of the police investigation into the death of Kenneka Jenkins.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

This firm serves as attorneys for the Village of Rosemont. This letter is being written on behalf of the Village of Rosemont in response to your request under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act ("FOIA") that was received by the Village on October 9, 2017. You requested "All video footage from the police investigation of the death of Kenneka Jenkins."

Below should be a URL link to the Crowne Plaza surveillance video footage depicting Kenneka Jenkins:

Further, please be advised that the Village is in possession of approximately 36 hours of Crowne Plaza surveillance video footage which does not depict Kenneka Jenkins, but was obtained as part of the Kenneka Jenkins investigation. This remaining video footage is only available by hard drive, a copy of which can be made and delivered to your address at your expense. The cost of reproducing the hard drive is Fifty Dollars ($50.00). The cost of delivery will depend on your requested shipping address. If you would like to obtain a copy of the hard drive of the remaining video footage not depicting Ms. Jenkins, please contact me accordingly.

To the extent that your FOIA request is being denied, the person responsible for the denial is Matthew Rose, who is one of the Village's attorneys.
