Pursuant to Montana Public Records Act, Article II, ยง 9, I hereby request the following records:

Absolutely any and all materials - including, but not limited to, policies, protocols, forms, reports, spreadsheets, and any other relevant material - related to the use and implementation of the labor of individuals held at for-profit or contracted prison facilities under the jurisdiction of this state. If state law in this area applies also to local or federal facilities contracted with a for-profit prison operator, provision of these relevant materials would also be appreciated.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Crossroads Correctional Center in Shelby (private prison) and the two regional county prisons we contract with, Dawson and Cascade Co. regional prisons, follow state DOC policies. The relevant policies are DOC 5.1.1 through 5.2.4, which cover our Work and MCE programs: http://cor.mt.gov/Policy/Chapter5 . For more specific details, you would need to contact each of the three facilities.
