Pursuant to the Missouri Sunshine Law and the Missouri Public Records Law, I hereby request the following records:
-All department policies regarding protocol for state police officers responding to domestic violence incidents
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 3 business days, as the statute requires.

This email is in response to your Missouri Sunshine Law request received on March 1, 2017 (attached). The Missouri Department of Public Safety Office of the Director is not a law enforcement agency and does not have any records that are responsive to your request.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol is a law enforcement agency, and a division of the Department of Public Safety. If you wanted to request the policies of that agency for its officers responding to domestic violence incidents you could contact the MSHP custodian of records: http://www.mshp.dps.missouri.gov/MSHPWeb/PatrolDivisions/CRID/custodianOfRecords.html
The Patrol would not be the custodian of records for other law enforcement agencies in the state of Missouri that may have their own policies regarding domestic violence incidents.
