Dear Ms. McCammon:

From: Muira McCammon

Hi,

Apologies, but it looks as if your last message was cut-off. I only received a message that stated "Dear Ms. McCammon:"

I think there might've been a longer message drafted to me but cannot see it in what was sent.

Thank you,

Muira

From: Department of Health and Senior Services

Dear Ms. McCammon:

I apologize for that. This is what I meant to include.

From: Muira McCammon

Hi,

I'm sorry, but now the message I have received from your office says only the following: "Dear Ms. McCammon: I apologize for that. This is what I meant to include."

Is there more to the message? I'm afraid I can't see anything apart from the above message.

Thank you again,
Muira

Dear Ms. McCammon:

The message is below. I'm also attaching both emails I've sent as they show the full message on my end. Thank you.

Ms. McCammon,

The email search portion of the request generated 409,999 e-mails which results in an estimated cost of $94,299.77. Is there any way you could narrow your search parameters so the amount of records and review time wouldn't be so high? Some of this information dates back to 2007.

Thank you,

Lisa Cox

From: Muira McCammon

Hi, Lisa,

Yikes. It seems that some - though not many state agencies - are handling my request by using words like "Twitter" standing alone as a search term in email inboxes. I'm not sure if that's what your agency is doing, but, I'd like to be really clear that my request is not asking for all emails related to social media. It has a very clear focus on deleted, removed, and unpublished social media posts and the email correspondence(s) that preceded, followed, or justified said content removal.

I do not know how many people are directly in charge of managing the Department's social media accounts, but if you do a targeted search of their inboxes using the *pairs* of the following keywords, I suspect that would narrow things considerably.

a. "twitter" and "delete"
b. ''tweet" and"delete"
c. ''twitter'' and ''remove"
d. "tweet" and ''remove"
e. ''twitter" and "inappropriate"
f. ''tweet'' and ''inappropriate"
g. ''twitter" and "change"
h. ''tweet" and"change"
i. "social media" and "delete"
j. "social media" and ''remove"

I'm here on the grid to discuss this further, if you'd like, and I really appreciate the work and energy that your office has invested into this endeavor. I appreciate you reaching out to try to move things forward in an efficient and effective manner.

Weirdly, I have not had this issue with U.S. federal agencies, so it's been surprising to see a few state-level agencies have this type of problem.

Thank you again,

Muira,

The revised search totals came back for this one:

15,335 e-mails

76.68 estimated hours

$ 3,527.05

We made great strides in narrowing it down, but we can definitely try to keep carving it lower if you would like.

Thank you,
Lisa
