Hello, thank you for your assistance. I would like to further request all of notices of publication refusal sent since 2015.

Thank you,
Alec Shea

From: Department of Corrections

Good Morning,

Could you please clarify what you mean "all notices of refusal of publication"? Thank you.

MG

From: Alec Shea

In line 657 of the document I was previously sent, it reads "When a publication is refused, the offender and the publisher, distributor or vendor will be sent a notice of the received publication, date of receipt and reason for refusal." My request covers those notices.

From: Department of Corrections

I appreciate the clarification. According to the Mississippi Public Records Act (25-61-7), "fees shall be collected by the public body in advance of complying with the request." Given the amount of documents you have requested would be thousands of documents and all of the requested documents are not stored electronically, a deposit will be required before we can move forward with MDOC employees taking the necessary time to compile and scan/copy the documents.

I'm in the process of obtaining an estimate of how much the request will cost and the deposit will be a portion of that. Given the necessary costs and expenses associated with this request, would you like to narrow the scope (from 2015 to now) in order to cut down on the estimated costs associated with disclosing these documents?
